General Notes:
FROM MARGOT LIND:
Thanks for sending me the updated Falkenstein family tree. I'm attaching my information so that you add it. Catherine Evangeline Falkenstein was my great-great grandmother. She married Adam Lind and I've included that family branch for you. The names in bold are my direct antecedents.
According to a family letter, the Falkenstein name was used as a middle name for the male children.

Mystery - buried in Lind plot in Memorial Park, KCK - Barbara Jean Lind, age 2 years
From Regina: Adam Lindborn: July 30,1835, Pennsylvania Died: February 12, 1906 Wife: Catherine Eve Falkenstein Children: Salome, Joseph, Millie, U.Grant, Emma, Samuel, Eugenie
The following info was taken from Douglas County, Kansas, Family Histories 1990-1991, Volume 1 submitted by Rhoda Rudd Prall, Albquerque, NM.
Adam B. Lind was a feisty, red-headed, German-speaking Pennsylvania Dutchman whose abolitionist sentiments forced him to move from Missouri to Douglas County, KS. Lind's quarrels with his proslavery Missouri neighbors finally went beyond mere verbal exchanges. One evening when he and his children were in the wagon returning home from the flour mill, someone concealed in the underbrush fired shots at them. Fortunately, no one was hit. This incident forced Lind and his wife, Catherine Eve Falkenstein Lind, to leave Missouri. They moved newr Lone Star, Douglas County, KS, where they bought land. On March 18, 1867, Lind was listed as a registered voter in Marion Township, Douglas County. Lind was a farmer as well as a carpenter, who built some of the finer homes of the time in the county. All of the sons were trained as carpenters, but Joseph Lind later worked on railroad construction, and Grant Lind for Armour and Company. All of the daughters in the family were educated at a normal school near Lawrence and became school teachers. In the pioneer-do-it-yourself work ethic of the time, Catherine served as a midwife at the births of some of her grandchildren.
Adam B. Lind was in the posse that unsuccessfully pursued William Quantrill after his burning of Lawrence. The militia members were paid in script, but it never became redeemable. He was a private in Co. E, 21st Reg.
